Sample Sale!

Saturday, September 11 9-4

Due to high demand and much anticipation, the Swoon Sample Sale is back! We will be cleaning house Saturday, September 11 and there will be many a gorgeous gown available for a killer deal.

Now, don't be frightened by the phrase "sample sale." There will be absolutely no scenes of brides fighting it out for dresses. This is a sample sale Swoon-style: elegant and refined.

We will have select sample dresses marked down to amazing prices (40-70% off). This is the event for you if you are looking for a deal (and if a sample dress is a good option…see more below). Spread the word too, if you have friends who might be interested.

We are showing the gowns by appointment, so you must call first if you want to come in and score your dream dress at a bargain price. The prices are in effect for one day only. As a bargain hunter, you must also be a decision maker.

Our samples are generally sizes 8, 10, and 12. The best bridal candidate for a sample is someone who is somewhere between a 6 and a 10, because bridal does run small.

It will be a bridesmaid dress bargain bonanza, as we have a number of discontinued bridesmaid dresses that we are clearing out. Again, if you are a size 6 through 10 this could be a real good time. If you want a great little rehearsal dinner dress or just a cocktail number, there will be some great finds.

We welcome you to pop in at your whim to peruse bridesmaid dresses.

Do note 2011 brides that this will be our last sample sale of this year.

Also, please note our abbreviated hours for our sample sale day. Power shopping can be exhausting.

Call 775.826.0505 for an appointment.

Swoon's Second Annual Wear It Again Soirée

Co-Hosted by The Group

Benefitting the Reno Cancer Foundation

Saturday, September 18 5:30 – 8:30 in the Evening

Wedding Attire Required

We are inviting our fabulous brides (past and future) along with friends and family to "Wear It Again" and raise money for the Reno Cancer Foundation, specifically for women in need who are battling reproductive cancers in our community.

Wedding attire is required. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses (good and bad), tuxes, and mother of the bride/groom dresses are all appropriate. This is a dress-up party, so whatever you wear needs to be something that is fun and fabulous and something that you may otherwise never be able to wear again.

Swoon is honored to co-host the party this year with members of The Group. The Group is a magnificent collection of young, professional and endlessly talented women.

Some of the evening's highlights will include paparazzi-style pictures on the "White Carpet," a worst bridesmaid dress contest (bring it!), and, of course, the raffle, which is full of marvelous treasures from stylish establishments around town.

Adding to the fun of it all, the ladies of The Group have crafted a silent auction component this year, which promises to be bountiful. (This is a group of well-connected women.)

The glorious grand prize raffle item is a private flight and dinner for two at the beautiful Little River Inn in Mendocino, California, donated by Gunderson Law Firm.

Bubbly and cocktails will be provided by the ever-so-swanky St. James Infirmary. Batch and Nothing Bundt Cakes are graciously providing sweet treats and Wolf Run Golf Club is supplying more savory nibbles.

Tickets are $30 and your entry ticket will enter you into the evening's raffle, which includes the grand prize. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased at the party (if you wish to sweeten your odds).

Tickets are available for purchase at Swoon. There are a limited number of tickets available. Really and truly please do not delay snatching up your tickets if you would like to join in the fun. For tickets, you can call us at the store at 775.826.0505. Note that we can only accept cash for tickets.

Come and help us celebrate life, love, and beautiful clothes—all the while raising money for a very good cause.

Tahoe Unveiled

Saturday, October 16

We are thrilled to be part of Tahoe Unveiled!

Tahoe Unveiled is two great things: The first piece is the Tahoe Unveiled website, which is a fabulous resource for brides who are after the best of the best wedding vendors in the Tahoe area. The second piece is the dazzling experience on Saturday, October 16 at Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn, which promises to be "an afternoon of inspiration, splendor, and luxury." Tahoe Unveiled is a must-attend event for all Tahoe brides.

What we particularly love about this event is the fresh approach it is taking to Tahoe weddings and the caliber of all of the wedding talent involved.

Speaking of amazing wedding talent, celebrity wedding planner Scott Corridan will present a seminar during the event entitled, "Boobs and Butts," using Swoon gowns and accessories to show brides how to best work their assets. There is no doubt this will be immensely entertaining in true Scott Corridan style (you will simply adore Scott—he is so much fun) and wildly informative (he know what looks good).

Melissa Sweet & Melissa Sweet Reverie Trunk Show

October 29 & 30

To celebrate Nevada Day in style, we are having a Melissa Sweet and Melissa Sweet Reverie Trunk Show. We will have the latest dresses from both collections here for just two days of pretty amazing power shopping. (This is also a great opportunity for all spring and summer 2011 brides who have yet to decide on a dress.)

It's hard not to fall head over heels in love with any dress by Melissa Sweet. Glamorous--romantic--distinctive--what we like to call "WOW" dresses are just a few ways to describe her collections. The Reverie Collection is designed with a destination bride in mind and also has some marvelous little short dresses.

Appointments are a must for this show--and we always book quickly when these dresses are in town. Plus, we always sweeten the deal at a trunk show and offer 10% off on trunk show gowns, so this is the time buy for all of you Melissa Sweet fans.
